Chapter 1

Marty Saybrooke needed a brand new start after the love of her life, Patrick Thornhart died and left her with 15-year-old Cole Patrick and 3-year-old Brianna Brooklyn. Marty could no longer stay in Llanview, Pennsylvania where she had too many memories of her life with Patrick and the kids. The only regret was Cole, who was forced to give up his girlfriend, Starr Manning, whom he had known since they were infants.

“Cole, I don’t want you to leave.” a heartbroken Starr sobbed, as Cole held her tight.

“I don’t want to leave you either.” Cole said, just as heartbroken. “But what can I do?”

“We can Skype when we can’t visit each other.” Cole tried to be reassuring.

“It’s not the same as having you near.” Starr cried. “I’m going to miss you so much.”

Marty packed the last bit of their belongings in the car and went inside to get Brianna. Then after locking the door a final time, Marty stood back and bid the house that was their home for the last 16 years.

“Say good-bye to Starr, Cole.” Marty said. “We need to get on the road to Pine Valley.”

“I love your Starr.” Cole said, as he kissed her good-bye.

“I love you too, Cole.” Starr said, sadly.

As Marty drove off, Starr watched her boyfriend wave from the back seat window.

“I’m sorry you have to leave Starr behind, Cole.” Marty apologized to her son. “I know how much Starr means to you.”

Cole didn’t say anything, but just sat there sullen, looking out the passenger window.

“I promise, when we get settled in Pine Valley, we’ll ask Todd and Blair if Starr can visit.”

Cole still remained silent, looking out the back window.

A few hours on the road, and Marty saw the sign that told them they were in Pine Valley, Pennsylvania. As soon as they got to their new home, their neighbors, Ryan and Greenlee Lavery came out to greet them and and welcome them to Pine Valley and help them move in.

“Hello. I’m Greenlee.” Greenlee warmly greeted Marty. “And this is my husband, Ryan.”

Ryan reached out to shake Marty’s hand.

“I’m Marty Saybrooke, and this is my son, Cole, and my daughter, Brianna.” Marty said, introducing her family to Ryan and Greenlee.

“What brings you to Pine Valley, if you don’t mind me prying?” Greenlee asked, as she helped Marty bring in her belongings.

“A new start.” Marty explained. “My husband just died and I could no longer remain in Llanview as there were just too many memories.”

“I’m so sorry for your loss.” Greenlee sympathized with Marty. “I’m sure you will like it here. Pine Valley is a nice community. And I’ll introduce you to my friend, Kendall, as soon as get settled.”

“That would be nice.” Marty said.

“Well, Ryan and I will let you finish getting settled.”

Ryan and Greenlee left Marty to unpack what little they had until the truck arrived with the rest of their belongings. Marty hoped she liked it here. Pine Valley sounded like a nice place to live.

Chapter 2

The truck arrived with their belongings as Marty unpacked and arranged their new home. Marty logged onto the Internet to look for a job. After scanning over hundreds of possible jobs, she came across an administration assistant at a casino in Pine Valley. Submitting her resume to the casino’s website, Marty was surprised to receive a call for an interview just minutes after her submitting her resume.

“Hello?” Marty answered her cell.

“Yes, this is Zack Slater.” Zack said, when Marty answered. “I’m the CEO of Cambias Industries, who runs the Casino where you applied. Can you come in for an interview in one hour?”

“Yes, I can.” Marty said, nearly jumping at her first offer.

“Great.” Zack said. “I’ll see you in one hour.”

Marty thank Zack for the interview and hung up her call. She had to get ready for her interview.

“Cole, can you watch Brianna?” Marty asked him, who was Skyping with Starr. “I just got an interview for a job.”

“Yes, mom.” Cole said, who quickly went back to Skyping with Starr.

As soon as Marty got ready for her interview, she said good-bye to Cole and Brianna and left the house.

Marty arrived at the casino and easily found a parking spot near the entrance. As soon as she parked the car, Marty headed inside the casino.

“Hello, may I assist you in any way.” Lily Montgomery asked Marty as soon as she walked in.

“Yes, my name is Marty Saybrooke and I have an interview with a Zack Slater?” Marty told Lily.

“Ah, yes, Marty Saybrooke.” Lily said, remembering what Zack told her. “Zack said to send you on up to his office as soon as you arrived.”

Lily gave Marty directions to Zack’s office, and after thanking Lily for her help, walked up the stairs to Zack’s office.

Zack was just coming back to his office when Marty arrived at his office.

“Marty?” Zack said, when he got to his door.

“Yes, I am.” Marty said.

“You’re a little early.” Zack said. “But come in and we will get started with the interview.”

Zack was instantly taken with Marty and was pleased with her efficiency during the interview. Zack hired her on the spot and told Marty her first day was tomorrow.

As Marty was about to leave the casino, happy that she found a job so quickly, Lily yelled after her.

“Ms. Saybrooke!”

“Yes.” Marty said, turning at the sound of her voice.

“Mr. Slater wanted me to give you these.” Lily said, giving her a complimentary ticket for dinner at the casino for her and her children, who Zack managed to pry out of Marty during the interview.

Marty thanked Lily and went home to get Cole and Brianna so they could have dinner at the Casino.

As soon as Marty left, Zack came down the stairs, and thanked Lily for a job well done.

Zack had plans for Marty that night.

Chapter 3

Marty, Cole and Brianna arrived at the casino and as soon as the maitre’ d saw Marty and her children, she escorted them to the private room Zack had prepared for them.

“I appreciate the tickets for dinner for me and my children, but I never expected this?” Marty told the maitre’ d.

“Well, Mr. Slater wanted to make sure you were well taken care of.” the maitre’ d said, not letting on the real reason for the private dining.

As Marty, Cole and Brianna sat down at the table, the head chef came out with a buffet of all Marty and her children’s favorite that Zack had miraculously pried out of Marty during her interview.

Cole and Brianna began to eat the delicious dinner as Zack arrived to join them.

“Well, it looks as if you are enjoying your dinner.” Zack said, pleased.

“Mr. Slater?” Marty said, surprised. “I didn’t expect to see you tonight?”

“I just wanted you to have a pleasant dinner with your children on your first night in Pine Valley and celebrate your first day tomorrow.” Zack exclaimed.

“Mom, you got a job here at the casino?” Cole inquired.

“Yes, honey!” Marty told him. “I got the job here.”

“I’m happy for you.”

“Mommy, this mac-n-cheese is good!” Brianna exclaimed.

“I’m glad you like it, Brianna!” Zack said. “My chef made it especially for you!”

Brianna just smiled and continued eating her mac-n-cheese.

“Zack, thank you for this delicious dinner.” Marty told Zack, gratefully.

“I have a confession to make.” Zack began. “I really just wanted a night with you and your lovely children.”

“I’m touched.” was all Marty could say.

As Zack is enjoying his dinner with Marty and her children, Kendall walks into the casino looking for Zack.

“Lily, have you seen Zack?”

“Yes, Ms. Slater.” Lily informs her. “He’s having dinner in the main private dining room.”

“Thank you, Lily.” Kendall says, as she heads upstairs to the main private dining room.

When she gets there, she sees Zack enjoying himself with Marty and her children and doesn’t like it one bit. She slams open the door to the private dining room, startling little Brianna, as well as leaving Marty, Zack and Cole surprised.

Chapter 4

“Well, well, well!” Kendall exclaimed. “What do we have here?!”

“Kendall, this is a private party.” Zack said. “And I don’t believe you were invited.”

“I’m sorry, Zack.” Kendall taunts him. “I guess you forgot to send me an invite.”

“No, I’m pretty sure you weren’t invited.” Zack reaffirms.

“So, you’ve moved on, huh?” Kendall questions Zack. “My, my, my, Zack, that was fast! From our bed to. . .” Marty looks at Marty. “I’m sorry, I’m afraid I never caught your name?”

“It’s Marty. Marty Saybrooke.”

“So, Marty, where are you from?” Kendall interrogates her.

“I’ve lived most my life in Llanview, Pennsylvania.” Marty replies back.

“Kendall, I believe I told you to go.” Zack warned.

“Yes, Zack, I’ll go.” Kendall threatened. “But let me forewarn you! I’m suing you for full custody of Ian!”

“I’ll see you in court, Kendall.” Zack said.

Kendall left the private dining room, mad as hell. There was no way that “whore” was going to raise Ian. If Zack wanted to carry on with a “whore”, that was his prerogative, but she was going to make sure he didn’t involve Ian in that life.

“I’m sorry, Marty.” Zack apologized. “Kendall can be such a bitch sometimes.”

“Don’t be sorry, Zack.” Marty told him.

Zack leaned in for kiss, a kiss that Marty didn’t resist.

Meanwhile. . .

“Aiden, I need your help.” Kendall said, rushing into his arms.

“What’s wrong, love?” Aiden asked, holding her tight in his arms.

“It’s Zack. He’s gotten involved with someone new.”

“So, why does that matter?” Aiden asked confused.

“With a ‘whore’ from Llanview, Pennsylvania.” Kendall told him. “I want to sue Zack for full custody of Ian. I don’t want him around Zack’s women.”

“I’m sure this new woman in Zack’s life is not so bad.” Aiden tried to reassure her.

“Who the hell’s side are you on?!” Kendall asked, disbelievingly.

“I’m sorry, Love.” Aiden apologized. “Of course I’ll help you.”

“That’s better.” Kendall told him with a kiss, as the two begin to make love.

Chapter 5

After dinner, Cole had taken Brianna home after insisting that he needed to skype with Starr, Marty and Zack found themselves in Zack’s suite in his casino. After Ian had finally gotten to sleep, Zack joined Marty on his loveseat where the two found themselves in a liplock that turned passionate. The longer they kissed, the harder it was for the two of them to deny their feelings any longer as Zack led Marty to his room and kissed her some more.

Despite being a little nervous, Marty gave in to the passion as Zack unbuttoned her blouse and massaged her breasts, kissing her over and over. The sensations Marty felt were undeniable as she gave into the desire she had missed since she Patrick had passed.

As Zack and Marty reveled in their new-found passion, Kendall had managed to get Jack Montgomery’s assistance with a new custody order who promised that Zack would be served in the morning.

The next morning, Zack woke up to the sound of his doorbell ringing. As he looked at Marty sleeping peacefully, Zack got up out of bed and went to answer the door.

“Zack Slater, you’ve been served!” the process server said as he handed him the papers before leaving.

As Zack scanned the papers, his blood began to boil when he realized the new terms for Kendall gaining custody of their son, Ian.

“What is the meaning of this?!” Zack screamed at Kendall as soon as she answered her cell.

“I’m taking Ian away from you!” Kendall yelled back.

“What about our agreement!”

“Well, that went out the window when you became involved with that floozy!” Kendall wailed at him.

“FYI, Marty is no floozy and you’re going to regret this Kendall!” Zack said before he ended the call.

Marty woke up to Zack’s yelling and got up to see what was going on.

“Zack, what’s wrong?” Marty asked, as she tried to calm him down.

“Kendall is suing me for custody of Ian.” Zack told her.

“Well, let’s have a nice breakfast together.” Marty told him, heading into his kitchen to start breakfast.

“I enjoyed our night last night.” Zack said, grabbing her from behind to kiss her, preventing her from making breakfast.

“Zack.” Marty said in between his kisses. “I’m trying to make us some breakfast.”

“Forget about breakfast.” Zack said as he continued to kiss her. “All I want is you.”

As their passion started to heat up again, Zack pushed Marty up on the counter as they nearly made love again, but they were interrupted by Marty’s cell ringing. Spying on the screen that it was Cole, Marty ended their passion to answer it.

“I’m sorry, Zack.” Marty apologized. “It might be important.”

“Cole, what’s wrong?’ Marty answered her cell.

“It’s Brianna.” Cole said with concern. “She has spiked a fever.”

“I’m on my way!” Marty said before hanging up.

As Zack helped Marty to her car, he kissed her one last time before she got into the car. As he watched her drive away, he dialed his attorney.

Chapter 6

As Marty frantically tended to Brianna who was lethargic with fever, she wasn’t getting any better. Cole picked his little sister up in his arms as Marty and Cole rushed her to PVUH (Pine Valley University Hospital) where Marty and Cole met Dr. David Hayward.

“What seems to be the problem?” David asked when he saw Marty and Cole with little Brianna.

“My daughter is sick. She has a high fever.” Marty said frantically.

“Let me take her.” David said as he scooped Brianna in his arms and placed her on the gurney and wheeled it into the ER room for an examination.

Several minutes later, Marty and Cole were still waiting.

“Hello, Starr?” Cole said after he had reached Starr on her cell.

“Cole, I’m so glad you called. I missed you.” Starr said happily.

“I have bad news.” Cole told her.

“What is it?”

“Brianna is sick. Mom and I are at the hospital waiting for word on her.”

“Oh, Cole, I’m so sorry. I hope Brianna will be okay.” Starr said with concern.

“So, how are you doing?” Cole asked her.

“Okay. The usual Llanview drama.”

“SSDD?”

“Yep. But on a lighter note. I have good news.” Starr told him.

“Really? What?”

“After graduation, I applied to the university there in Pine Valley and got accepted.” Starr said enthusiastically.

“Really. That’s great. And funny too.” Cole said.

“Why’s that?”

“I also applied and got accepted too.”

“So we will be heading to school together?”

“Looks like it.”

“I can’t wait to see you.” Starr said. “I’ve really missed you.”

“Me too.”

“Well, Starr, the doctor has just came out. Talk later.”

“Okay. Bye. Love you.”

“Love you too.” Cole said.

Cole hung up with Starr as David was about to give Marty and Cole word on Brianna.

“I’m afraid that I have bad news.” David told Marty and Cole.
“What is it, Dr.?” Marty said worriedly.

“I’m still running tests, but I’m afraid Brianna may have leukemia.” David informed Marty and Cole. “I’ll know more when I get the test results back.”

“I’m here, David.” Cara said. “What seems to be the matter?”

“Oh, Cara, good.” David said. “This is Marty. I am running tests on her daughter, Brianna. I’m afraid she may have leukemia.”

“I will get on it.” Cara told David.

“Great.” David said, as Cara left to go check on the test results.

“Dr. Castillo is an expert in oncology. She will be on your daughter’s case from now on.” David told Marty.

“Thanks, Dr. Hayward.”

“Please, call me David.”

“Can I go see my daughter now?” Marty said, distraught.

“Yes, I will show you to her room.”

As David escorted Marty and Cole to Brianna’s room, he couldn’t help but be taken by the lovely Ms. Saybrooke. But as soon as David showed Marty to Brianna’s room, Zack was waiting for Marty, who had received word from Cole who told Zack when Marty didn’t pick her calls.

(Next: David comes between Marty and Zack, to Kendall’s glee.)

Chapter 7

“Marty, I waited for you at my casino.” Zack said, when David walked into Marty’s suite with Marty and Brianna. “I thought we had a date?”

“Oh, Zack, I’m sorry. I had to take Brianna to the hospital.” Marty apologized.

“That’s okay.” Zack said as he took Brianna from Marty’s arms and laid the tot in her crib. “I’ll take it from here, David.”

“Dr. Hayward, when the test results come in for Brianna?” a worried Marty asked him before he slipped away.

“I’ll get back to you when they come in.” David told Marty.

“Thank you, Dr. Hayward.”

“Please, call me David.” David told her.

As David left, he called Cara at the hospital to find out about the test results on Marty’s daughter, Brianna.

“I’m sorry, David, I’m still working on them.” Cara told him.

“Well, when you get them, let me be the first to know.” David demanded from Cara.

“Yes, David, you are the attending doctor. Of course you’ll be the first to know.” Cara told him.

“Thank you.” David said, as he plotted to come between Zack and Marty for Marty’s affections.

Back at Marty’s suite at Zack’s casino, Zack and Marty were alone together as Brianna finally soothed herself to sleep and Cole was in class at Pine Valley Unversity.

“This is a lovely lunch.” Marty told Zack.

“Thank you. I prepared it myself.” Zack said, hoping to impress Marty with his culinary abilities.

“You made this chicken salad?” Marty said, as she scooped more into her mouth. “I absolutely love it.”

Zack got out his phone and put some soft romantic music on as he asked Marty for a dance.

“May I have this dance?” Zack asked her, extending his hand out for her to accept.

“Yes you may.” Marty said, as she gladly accepted his hand as Zack whisked her out of her chair for an impromptu dance to “Lady in Red” by Chris DeBurgh.

Back at the hospital, David was just getting the results back from Cara about Brianna’s tests and gave Marty a call.

“I’m sorry, Zack, I have to get that.” Marty said as she stopped the dance to retrieve her phone lying on the table that showed it was from PVUH. “David?”

“Yes. Marty, I have the test results back for Brianna.” David told Marty.

“Is it good news?” Marty said worried.

“Meet me at the diner in Zack’s casino in 20 minutes.” David said hanging up and not giving Marty a chance to respond.

“Dr. Hayward….” Marty said before the line went dead.

“I’m sorry, I have to go.” Marty said to Zack as she grabbed her purse and headed out leaving Zack alone to watch Brianna.

(Coming: Marty finds out the results of Brianna’s tests at a price.)

Chapter 8

Zack drove Marty to the PVUH to see David Hayward and find out the results of Brianna’s test.

“Dr. Hayward, have you found out what’s wrong with my daughter?” a distraught Marty asked.

“I’m afraid isn’t good.” David said solemnly.

“What is it?”

“Brianna has aplastic anemia.” David informed Marty.

“What can we do for her?” Zack asked David the question as Marty was too distraught to ask.

“Well, we can use try medication, blood transfusions or a stem cell transplant which also known as a bone marrow transplant.” David informed Marty.

“So, we need to either go on the donor registry and try to find someone who can donate bone marrow for Brianna.” David began to explain to Marty. “But we can also go one step further and check family and friends for any matches first.”

“Well, I’ll get Cole and I’ll have myself tested as well.” Marty told David.

“And I will too.” Zack told her.

“Can I go see her?” Marty asked David.

“As a matter of fact, Brianna was just wondering about her mommy.” Cara came out to see David, Marty and Zack.

As Zack and Marty went into see Brianna, Cole was receiving the surprise of his life back home while waiting to hear word on Brianna.

“Forget your key, mom!” Cole said as he opened to the front door to find Starr Manning.

“Starr!” Cole said happily. “I can’t believe you’re here.”

The two lovers kissed passionately, as if they had been separated for months.

Greenlee was planning a surprise dinner for Ryan to celebrate the news she was about to share when he got home.

“What’s this? A romantic dinner?” Ryan asked as he kissed Greenlee.
“Just a little dinner.” Greenlee said

“What’s the occasion?” Ryan said as Greenlee directed him to his seat, hoping he spied the clue sitting on his plate.

Ryan sat down at the table in front of his plate and spied a rattle laying on his plate.

“What’s this? Are we—“ Ryan asked as an ecstatic Greenlee smiled.

“Yes, Ryan, we are having a baby.”

Ryan was overjoyed as he kissed Greenlee.

“I can’t believe we are finally going to have a family of our own.”

(Coming: Starr confesses the truth about her visit; and a surprising person becomes Brianna’s donor; and trouble comes with Greenlee’s pregnancy.)

Chapter 1

“I can’t believe that you finally divorced that wife of yours, Jack.” Reba says, after finally agreeing to have dinner with him.

“I realized that you’re the woman I want, Reba.” Jack confesses. “I just regret not coming to that decision sooner.”

“Jack, I’m touched.” Reba says, with a tear in her eye.

“I love you Reba.” Jack finally confesses. “I’m not afraid to say it.”

“Jack, please. Don’t make me cry.”

“Reba Hart.” Jack begins, as he gets down on one knee, pulling out a ring. “Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

Reba’s mouth drops as she sheds tears of joy.

“Of course, Jack!” Reba says, in between tears. “I’d be honored to be your wife!”

Jack places the ring on her finger as they kiss in front of diners and wait staff. The celebration is interrupted by Barbara Jean and Brock, who happen upon the now-happily-engaged couple.

“What’s all the commotion?” Barbara Jean adds.

Reba turns around to see Barbara Jean and Brock.

“Reba just agreed to be my wife.” Jack announces to a surprised and shocked Brock, as Reba shows them the ring.

“That’s wonderful Reba.” Barbara Jean congratulates her. “Even though I’m just a little jealous.”

“I can’t believe that you’re doing this!” Brock adds, stunned by Reba’s decision.

“What’s that supposed to mean, Brock?” Barbara Jean says, feeling betrayed.

“Reba can’t marry Jack!” Brock continues.

“And why not, Brock!” Barbara angrily tells him, as they get into a heated confrontation.

Brock and Barbara Jean continue their spat right there in the restaurant as Reba and Jack leave the two fighting and head for Reba’s home. She can’t believe the nerve Brock had telling her she couldn’t marry Jack after the way he betrayed her with Barbara Jean and got her pregnant and marrying her.

Now that she has finally found happiness after all these years, he has the gall to say that. But Reba didn’t let Brock’s harsh words get to her when they arrived home to share a romantic night with Jack. But their plans were ruined when they walked in on an upset Kyra who had let herself in after coming back home.

“Kyra, what are you doing here?” Reba says, shocked to see her daughter home.

“I left Kevin!” Kyra announced to Reba.

“Kyra dear, what happened?”

“I caught Kevin cheating with a co-worker.”

“What? I’m so sorry, Kyra.” hugging her daughter, but they were interrupted by Kyra’s 3-year-old son, Damen, who had just discovered Gramma home.

“Gramma!” Damen said, running into Reba’s arms.

“Why, hello, Damen!” Reba says, smothering him with kisses. “I’m so glad to see you.”

Kyra felt bad when she spied the diamond ring on her mother’s third left finger, “Oh mom, I’m so sorry to have ruined your evening.”

“What do you mean, Kyra?”

“You and Jack obviously had plans tonight.”

“Oh, it’s nothing, dear.” Reba said, trying to hide her news over Kyra’s troubles.

“C’mon, mom! I see the engagement ring.” Kyra adds. “I know you didn’t expect to find me here.”

“Well, Kyra, you’re always welcome home. Jack and I can always celebrate later, right Jack.”

“That’s right, Kyra.” Jack agrees. “This is your home too.”

“Thanks you two for understanding.” Kyra welcomes their supportiveness. “It’s late and I’m bushed. I think I will take Damen and put him to bed and let you two have some peace.”

“See you two in the morning, Kyra.” Reba tells her. “Get a good night’s sleep. Things will look up in the morning.”

As Jack and Reba watch Kyra take her son upstairs to bed, Jack kisses her. “Have I told you lately how much I love you?”

“Yes, but you can always tell me over and over.” Reba kisses him back.

Chapter 2

Reba woke up the next morning in Jack’s arms to the sound of someone pounding on her front door. She tried to ignore it and go back to sleep snuggled next to Jack, but the pounding at the front door wouldn’t stop.

Finally, Reba wriggled out of Jack’s embrace to answer the front door. She was shocked to find Brock standing on her front door with his clothes in his arms.

“Reba!” Brock pleaded. “Barbara Jean threw me out and I have no where to go!”

“Well, you can’t stay here!” Reba said, surprised.

“Please, Reba?”

“No, Brock!” Reba said, firmly. “My fiance wouldn’t approve!”

Reba was about to close the door in Brock’s face when Jack came down the stairs wondering where Reba was.

“Reba, where did you go?”

“I heard pounding at the front door and came down to see who it was.” Reba explained. “Imagined my surprise when it turned out to be my ex-husband?”

“Brock’s here?” Jack said, turning to come face to face with Brock.

“Hello, Jack!” Brock said.

“What do you want, Brock?”

“Will you reason with your fiancee, Jack?” Brock asked. “Barbara Jean threw me out and I need a place to go.”

“You want to stay here?” Jack asked, confused.

“I’ve been trying to throw him out, but he won’t budge!” Reba said, irritated.

“Why would you do that?” Jack asked. “Why don’t we let him stay here?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Just until he can find a more suitable arrangement or Brock gets back with Barbara Jean.”

“Jack, you don’t know what you are saying?”

“C’mon, Reba, how long can it be? A few days, tops.”

“Fine, Brock, you can stay until you find a suitable arrangement.” Reba agreed. “You better find something quick. . .or make up with Barbara Jean.”

“I’ll find something.” Brock assured her. “Barbara Jean and I are over, however.”

“What do you mean you and Barbara Jean are over?”

“She thinks I’m still love with you.”

“Boy, is she off her rocker.”

“Yeah, I know.” Brock agreed, secretly knowing that Barbara Jean was right.

“Well, Brock, you can sleep here on the sofa until you find a place of your own.” Reba said, pointing to the sofa.

Then she went into the kitchen to make breakfast for Jack as Brock tempted with idea of how to tell Reba about his true feelings for her now that she was engaged to Jack.

Chapter 3

The next morning, Kyra came down stairs with Damen to find that her father was asleep on the couch.

“Damen, go give grampa a kiss.” Kyra said to her son.

Damen did exactly that as Brock awoke shocked but glad to see his daughter.

“Kyra, what are doing home?” he said, giving her a hug.

“I came home after I caught Kevin having an affair with a co-worker.” Kyra announced to her father.

“I’m sorry, darling.” wanting to kick some sense into his son-in-law, but feeling like a hypocrite if he did so.

A knock on Reba’s door caught Kyra off-guard as she went to answer it.

“Kevin?!” Kyra asked, bitterly. “What are you doing here?”

“Daddy, you came!” Damen yelled, running into his arms.

“Damen, did you call your father?” Kyra asked him.

“Yes, mommy!” Damen weeped.

“Kyra, we need to talk.” Kevin pleaded with her.

“I have nothing to say to you.” Kyra told him matter-of-factly.

“Ah, Kyra darling, I think you should hear your husband out.” Brock told his daughter.

“Daddy, who’s side are you on?”

“I’m on the side of working things out if it’s possible.”

“Well, it’s not possible.” Kyra said. “I’m sure you know from experience, daddy.”

“Kyra, please, just listen to your husband before you make any snap judgments.” Brock pleaded with his daughter.

“Please, Kyra?” Kevin asked, winking at Brock, thanking him.

Just then, Reba came down stairs when she heard voices in the living room.

“What’s going on here?”

“Sorry, mother, Kevin arrived and wanted to talk, but I tried to tell him to go away, but daddy said that I should at least talk to him.”

“Really, Brock!” Reba asked, incredulously. “Why should Kyra talk with her husband after learning he cheated on her?”

“I just think Kyra should talk with Kevin before making any rash decisions.” Brock said.

“Brock, Kevin cheated on our daughter! Why should she forgive him?”

“I’m not saying she should. She should examine her options first.”

“Gee, thanks, everyone for making up my mind.” Kyra said, hotly. “C’mon, Damen! Mommy and I are leaving!”

“But mommy!” Damen cried.

“See what you have done to her!” Reba said, chastising Brock and Kevin.

As Kyra got into the car and started driving, she wondered if maybe she should talk with Kevin. How much she loved him. And Damen adored his father.

Backing up into Reba’s driveway, Kyra turned off the car and walked back into the house.

“Okay, Kevin, you win! Kyra said. “Where do you want to go for a talk?”

Kevin thank his wife as he tried to give her a kiss.

“I agreed to a talk, Kevin, not a kiss.”

Brock smiled as Reba looked at her ex-husband incredulously, as Kevin and Kyra went to Starbucks for a talk.

Chapter 4

“Kyra, you need to know the truth.” Kevin began.

“I know the truth.” Kyra said, hurtfully.

“I didn’t cheat on you.” Kevin confessed.

“Yeah, sure.” Kyra said, disbelievingly.

“Honest, Kyra.” Kevin said. “I admit I was tempted. But I thought of you and all I would lose and I stopped it.”

“But what about the note I got from your assistant?” Kyra asked confused.

“She was texting me about a surprise for you and accidentally sent it you by mistake.”

“You had a surprise for me?” Kyra asked, confused.

“I was planning a surprise party for your birthday, and my assistant was doing all the preparations for it.” Kevin explained. “Imagine my surprise when you never showed?”

“Oh, Kevin. I’m so sorry.” Kyra said, hugging him.

Kevin escorted Kyra out to their car and they drove back to Reba’s to inform everyone that all was fine. But when they got back, they saw emergency vehicles out in front of Reba’s house.

“What’s going on?” Kyra asked concerned.

“Daddy just had a heart attack.” Cheyenne informed Kyra and Kevin.

“Oh, no!” Kyra said, worriedly, as Kevin just held her tight in his arms.

The paramedics were putting an unconscious Brock into the ambulance as everyone piled in their cars to follow Brock to the hospital.

“Oh, when are we going to hear anything about Brock?” Barbra Jean complained.

“Barbra Jean, please! Will you stop pacing the floor and sit down!” Reba said.

“I just can’t!” Barbra Jean complained more. “Oh, what’s taking so long?”

After waiting several hours and listening to Barbra Jean complain, the doctor finally comes out to report on Brock’s condition.

“Well, doctor?” Barbra Jean asks.

“Brock is doing okay.” the doctor explains. “He’s stable, but. . .”

“But what, doctor?” Barbra Jean asks, with everyone listening.

“I’m afraid Brock’s slipped into a coma.” the doctor sadly announces.

“A coma?” Reba says, disbelievingly. “Will he pull out of it?”

“Yes, doctor, Brock will be okay?” Barbra Jean asks, worriedly.

“Only time will tell.” the doctor says. “But with such a great family for support, I don’t see why Brock won’t make a full recovery.”

“Can I go see him, doctor?” Barbra Jean asks.

“You can all go see him . . . but one at a time.” the doctor informs them.

Barbra Jean heads into Brock’s room while everyone sits vigil worried about Brock.

Chapter 5

Brock dreaming:

“Reba, after all these years, I know where my heart lies.” Brock confesses.

“What do you mean, where you’re heart lies?” Reba asks.

“Don’t marry him!” Brock pleads with her.

“What?” Reba said, confused. “Brock, we’ve been divorced for 15 years!”

“Reba, I’m still in love with you.” Brock confessed.

“Brock, let me tell you something.” Reba confessed. “I’ve been over you for a very long time.”

“Well, I lied when I said I was happy with Barbra Jean all these years.”

“Well, I’m sorry, Brock, buy I’m marrying Jack.” Reba says, firmly. “I’m in love with him.”

Present:

“So Brock, please wake up soon!” Barbra Jean pleads to a comatose Brock. “I miss you. And I need you.”

As Barbra Jean leaves Brock’s side, his finger twitches. Just before Reba comes in.

“Brock, so help me, if you leave me stuck with Barbra Jean, I swear, I will never forgive you.” Reba says, jokingly. “I don’t want to to start a new married life with Barbra Jean in my face.”

Brock’s finger twitches again.

“Brock, your finger moved.” Reba praises.

She runs out to give everyone the good news.

“He moved!” Reba yells in the hospital corridor. “Brock moved his finger!”

“Mom! What’s all the commotion?!” Cheyenne asks.

“Brock, moved his finger!” Reba announces.

“Oh, he’s waking up!” Barbra Jean, excitedly.

The doctor comes after a nurse calls him.

“What’s this I hear about Brock waking up?” the doctor asks them.

“Doctor, Brock moved his finger!” Reba informs him. “Doesn’t that mean good news?”

“Well, I will go examine Brock and get back to you all.”

The doctor heads into Brock’s room to examine Reba’s claim that Brock’s finger moved. The doctor came back with even more good news.

“Well, everyone, Brock is indeed waking up.” the doctor informs them.

“Oh, doctor, that’s great news.” Barbra Jean says, happily. “Can I go see him?”

“Actually, he asked to speak with Reba.”

“Reba?” Barbra Jean asks. “Why would Brock want to see Reba?”

“Ah, doctor, I think Barbra Jean should see him first.” Reba says.

“Brock specifically insisted on seeing you, Reba.” the doctor said.

“Fine, I’ll humor him and go see him.

When Reba entered Brock’s room, she was surprised to see Brock looking so frail.

“Brock, the doctor said you wanted to see me?” Reba asks.

“Reba, there’s something I need to confess to you.”

“What about Brock?” Reba jokes. “Did you see God while you were in a coma?”

“I’m serious, Reba.”

“What is it, Brock?”

“While I was asleep, I had a dream.”

“And what was this dream about?”

“I told you that I was still in love with you and not to marry Jack.” Brock confesses.

“What?” Reba nearly coughs.

“I’ve been unhappy with Barbra Jean all these years.” Brock confesses. “I want you back.”

“I’m sorry, Brock, but I can’t talk to you right now.” Reba says, before leaving Brock’s room.

“Jack, I need to leave.” Reba tells him.

“Whats wrong, Reba?” Jack asks concerned.

“Not now, Jack.” Reba said. “I need to be alone.”

And Reba ran out of the hospital and got into her car and drove away.

Not knowing where to go, Reba found herself at a bar, and ordered a drink.

“What’ll it be?” the bartender asks her.

“Just give me a double.” Reba says.

A handsome gentleman sits down next to Reba.

“I can’t help but see you in a frazzled mind.”

“It’s nothing.” Reba says, trying to tell the kind gentleman to buzz off kindly.

“Are you sure you don’t wanna talk your trouble to a complete stranger?”

“You’d think I’d be happy being engaged after being divorce for 15 years?” Reba blurts out.

“So what’s the problem?” the stranger asks.

“My ex-husband just informed me that he’s still in love with me, and thinks we should get back together.”

“And you’re in love with your fiance?’

“You got it!” Reba said, downing her drink.

“I don’t know it it’s true.”

“What do you mean?’

“My ex-husband just woke up from a coma after having had a heart attack.”

“Oh, I see. You have a dilemma.”

“Yeah, I didn’t say a word to Brock.”

“So, are you?”

“Am I what?”

“Still in love with your ex?”

“What? I’ve had 15 years to get over him.” Reba says. “Why would I still be in love with my ex?”

“Then why does it bother you?”

“It doesn’t bother me.”

“You left your fiance at the hospital with your family?”

“Well, I was stunned by Brock’s confession.”

As Reba sat there, she wondered if maybe the stranger was right. Was she still in love with Brock? She wasn’t so sure after Brock’s confession.

Chapter 6

The next day, Jack surprised Reba with a weekend trip to his family’s farm in San Antonio. As they were having dinner that Jack had called up to their room, Reba couldn’t take her mind of Brock’s confession and her therapist’s suggestion that she was still in love with Brock.

“Cat got your tongue?” Jack asked, when Reba failed to reply to his question.

“What?” Reba asked embarrassed by her thoughts. “I’m sorry, Jack. My mind was a million miles away.”

“What were you thinking about, hun?”

“I was worried about the kids.” Reba covered.

“Don’t worry about them, hun. I’m sure Brock and Barbra Jean can look after them.” Jack said, trying to reassure her.

“I’m so sorry. You went to all this trouble to make this a wonderful weekend and I ruin it with my worrying.” Reba apologized.

“C’mon, eat up. We need to get some rest. I told my parents to expected us early in the morning.”

After Reba and Jack finished their dinner, Jack walked over to Reba and kissed her, which led to some passion and nearly making love. But thoughts of Brock came flooding into Reba’s mind and she pushed Jack away.

“I’m sorry, Jack, but I’m not in the mood for romance tonight.”

“That’s okay. How about we just cuddle and fall asleep in each other’s arms?”

“That sounds nice.” Reba said, and relaxed a little before they fell asleep.

The next morning, Jack and Reba got up and ate a continental breakfast before checking out and heading out to his parents’ farm.

Chapter 7

Jack and Reba arrived at Jack’s parents’ farm, where Jack’s parents had a delectable meal already made for them. Sitting down to a dinner of fried chicken, corn on the cob, coleslaw, mashed potatoes—all of Jack’s favorites.

“That was a delicious meal, Mrs. Morgan.” Reba thanked her.

“It was nothing, really.” Ella said. “I’m really outta place when I’m not in the kitchen. Cooking is my life.”

“That’s true.” Jack told Reba. “Mom was always had some delicious snack made up when my brother and I came home from school.”

“Well, I just wanted my family well-fed.”

Jack got up from the table and helped Reba get up from her chair as he pulled it out from the table.

“Mom, dad, Reba and I have some business to do in town.” Jack informed his parents. “We’ll be by later tonight.”

“Okay son.” Ella told her son.

“Jack, what are we going to do?” Reba asked with surprise.

“That’s a secret.” Jack said with a gleam in his eye.

As Jack helped Reba put her sweater on, Reba picked up her purse and Jack and Reba were out the door. Jack showed Reba to his ‘Stang, and opened the door for Reba as she got inside the car. Getting inside the driver’s door, Jack started the ignition and they were off downtown.

When Jack got into town, Reba did a double take and thought she saw Brock and Barbra Jean in town.

“No, it couldn’t possible be?” Reba thought to herself.

But sure enough, when Jack pulled into the church parking lot, there was Brock, Barbra Jean, Cheyenne, Van, Elizabeth, Kyra, Jake, and Henry waiting for them to arrive. Jack had planned a secret wedding for Reba and her family was in on it.

Chapter 8

“Jack, tell me I’m imagining, but I thought I just saw Brock and Barbra Jean here?” Reba asked him as they pulled into his parents driveway.

“No, love, you didn’t imagine it.” Jack told her. “I invited them here.”

“What?” Reba asked. “Why would you do that?”

“I can’t tell you, hun. You’ll just have to trust me.” Jack said, as he leaned over to kiss her.

“What’s so secret?”

“That’s for me to know and you to find out.” Jack said smiling.

“Oh, I will find out, that’s for sure.” Reba said as they got out of the car and walked up the steps to Jack’s parents’ house.

Jack knocked on his parents door and his mother came to the door.

“Jack!” Mary Morgan said, as she gave him and Reba a hug to welcome them. “Reba?”

“Mrs. Morgan.” Reba said cordially.

“Please, call me Mary.” Mary told her. “Can I get you a drink?

“Just a glass of water.” Reba said gratefully.

“Very well. I’ll be back in a few.

Mary Morgan went into her kitchen to bring out some refreshments as Jack took Reba’s jacket while Reba sat down on the couch. Jack was taken aback when they heard an argument in the kitchen from his parents.

“Jack, you son is here.” Mary told her husband.

“Go away!” Jack, Sr. told her.

“Honey, they travelled all this way to see us.” Mary pleaded.

“I don’t want to see them.” Jack exclaimed harshly. “Tell them I’m resting!”

“Okay.” Mary told her husband.
Mary picked up the tray from the counter of drinks and cookies and crackers and cheese and brought them into the living room where Jack and Reba were waiting. She hated lying to Jack about his father, but his father was adamant they not tell their son. So Mary went out and hoped for the best.

“Here we go, some refreshments for you all.” Mary said, hoping she sounded pleasant despite everything that she was going through.

“Thanks mom.” Jack said, as he looked over at Reba to stay quiet about the argument they heard. He wanted to respect his parents’ privacy out of courtesy for Reba, but he did intend to confront his mother later about it.

“So, what’s new with you, Jack?” Mary asked her son, hoping to deflect from what happened in the kitchen and that somehow they didn’t hear a word.

“Oh, just thought I’d bring Reba, my fiancée, to see the parents.” Jack said, not letting on that he had planned a wedding for her here on the family farm.

As Jack, Reba and his mother were getting reacquainted, Brock and the rest of Reba’s family had arrived at Jack’s family’s home.

“Knock, knock!” Barbra Jean said, as she came up to the door.

Mary came to the door to let them all in.

“What are you all doing here?” Reba asked her family, wondering why would they would even be here.

“Well, we decided we needed to keep an eye on you, Reba?” Barbra Jean told her.

“Why? Am I child who needs looking after?” Reba asked sarcastically.

“Well, you did marry my husband first?” Barbra Jean retorted, just to be just as sarcastic as Reba, and not give away Jack’s surprise.

“Ladies!” Brock exclaimed, trying to calm them down. “Can we all just be civil.”

“Civil?!” Reba exclaimed. “You barge in on my vacation with Jack and you want me to be civil!”

Reba couldn’t take it. She need to get away. Just be by herself for a while. She just couldn’t believe that Brock and her family had followed her to Jack’s family farm. It was like they didn’t trust her at all. But she had no idea the real reason they were here.

Chapter 9

Reba thought she would be alone when she wandered to the pond where she found three of her four children—Elizabeth, Tyler, Taylor and Henry (Brock’s son with Barbra Jean) all swimming at the pond.

“Gramma!” Elizabeth yelled when she noticed Reba coming to the pond.

“Elizabeth, how did you and the other kids get out here?” Reba asked her oldest grandchild.

“We walked out here.” Elizabeth told her innocently. “Daddy said it was okay.”

“Yeah, Mrs. Hart.” Henry defended his cousin.

“Okay. Let’s just enjoy ourselves.” Reba told them.

Reba sat back on the blanket the children brought out and laid on the ground as she watched her grandchildren enjoying themselves in the water. She couldn’t believe that Elizabeth as 13 years old. And Henry, despite being Barbra Jean’s son, was growing into quite a young man, at 13 years too. Even Taylor and Tyler, Kyra’s 9-year-old twins, were growing up way too fast.

Reba fished out her cell that was in her bag when she heard it ring and noticed it was her youngest son, Jake, who surprisingly, was not there, “Jake, how are you?”

“Mom, I’m sorry, I can’t get there.” Jake apologized.

“Jake, what’s wrong?” Reba asked concerned.

“Nothing serious, Mom.” Jake explained. “It’s my girlfriend, Mischa. She’s gone into labor.”

“Jake, I’m so happy for you and Mischa.” Reba said. “I can’t wait to see my fifth grandchild.”

“Well, Mischa and I will be out next month with the new baby.” Jake said. “Mom, I gotta go. The nurse is waving at me telling me it’s time.”

“Ok, Jake. Good bye for now.” Reba said as the line went dead. She couldn’t believe that her fifth grandchild was about to enter the world—Jake’s first child.

After about a half-hour at the pond, Reba announced to the children it was time to head back. She couldn’t wait to inform everyone that Jake’s first child was about to be born.

Chapter 10

“Can I get everyone’s attention!” Reba said when she and the grandchildren arrived back at Jack’s parents’ farmhouse.

“What’s so important, Reba?” Brock asked her.

“Well, I got a call from Jake while I was out at the pond with the grandchildren.”

“It’s just like Jake not to show up!” Cheyenne said bitterly of her younger brother.

“Well, Cheyenne, Jake has a very good reason for not being here.” Reba told her as well as the rest of them.

“Yeah, I’ll bet!” Cheyenne continued berating her younger brother’s absence.

“Jake called to tell me how sorry he was that he couldn’t be here.” Reba began.

“Don’t hold us in suspense, Reba.” Barbra Jean exclaimed.

“Okay. Jake and his girlfriend, Mischa, are about to become parents at this moment.” Reba announced.

“Jake is giving us our fifth grandchild!” Brock said ecstatically, as Barbra Jean looked on jealously.

“Yes, Brock, our fifth grandchild is about to enter the world.”

“Congratulations, Reba.” Jack said, as he kissed her on the cheek.

“Jack if you don’t mind, can we go somewhere and talk?” Reba asked him.

“Sure, love.”

Jack and Reba excused themselves from the party as they took a long walk to the same pond where Reba came to her realization.

“Avery!” Nick cries out as Stitch orders the nurse to take him out of the delivery room so he can work on Avery.

“Just relax, Mr. Newman.” The nurse tries to calm Nick down.

“She’ll be okay?” Nick says worried.

“The doctor is doing the best he can and will inform you when he knows something.” The nurse reassures him.

As Stitch works to save Avery, the other staff take the twins away to the neonatal unit to place the twins in an incubator to sustain their life. As a concerned Nick looks on, he calls Victor and Nikki to let them know the news of Avery and the twins.

Victor and Nikki, along with Victoria and Billy, have arrived at Genoa City Memorial just as Stitch is about to deliver Nick the news about Avery and the twins.

“Stitch, how are Avery and the twins?” Nick asks as Victor, Nikki, Victoria and Billy eagerly await Stitch’s report.

“Avery is okay and is recovering in her room.” Stitch tells Nick and his family.

“The twins, born early, are in an incubator in the neonatal unit.”

“Can I go see Avery?” Nick asks him.

“Yes, but one at a time.” Stitch tells Nick. “She needs her rest.”

“Can we go see the twins?” Victoria asks Stitch, with the others waiting for his answer.

“You can view the twins outside the window until we examine the twins.” Stitch told them all.

As Nick heads to Avery’s room to see her, Victor, Nikki, Victoria and Billy head to the neonatal unit to see the twins.

Chapter 2

Nick enters Avery’s hospital room and holds her hand. As he is praying for her life to be spared, a groggy Avery opens her eyes.

“Dylan, are the twins okay?” Avery asks.

“Avery, it’s Nick.” Nick replies to her.

“Nick, what are you doing here?” Avery panics. “Where’s my husband, Dylan?”

“Avery, I’m your husband.” Nick says as he tries to comfort a confused Avery.

“Get away from me!” Avery yells at him.

A nurse comes in after hearing all the commotion.

“What’s going on in here?!”

“Get this man out of here?!” a confused Avery demands.

“Avery!” Nick pleads as the nurse escorts Nick out of Avery’s room.

“Mr. Newman, you’ll have to leave. You’re upsetting the patient.”

“She’s my wife.” Nick pleads.

The nurse leaves Nick in the waiting room and heads back to Avery’s room where Stitch has been examining Avery. After examining Avery, he heads to Nick who is waiting in the waiting room for Avery’s prognosis.

“Stitch, how is she?” Nick asks, worried.

“She’s fine, physically.”

“But?” Nick inquires.

“But Avery has amnesia.” Stitch tells him.

“Will she remember who I am?”

“I don’t want to say so let’s just see what happens.” Stitch tells Nick.
“Can I see her?”

“She’s asking for Dylan.” Stitch tells him.

“Did some say my name?” Dylan asks Stitch as he arrives at GCMH after being called by the nurse.

“Yes, Dylan, Avery Newman is asking for you.” Stitch says.

“What about?” Dylan asks confused. “We have no business with each other?”

“Avery has amnesia and thinks you’re her husband.” Stitch informs Dylan.

“Okay.” Dylan replies. “What do I tell her?”

“Play along. . .for now.” Stitch instructs. “Any correction in Avery’s belief may jeopardize her recovery.”

“Okay. Thanks for the update.” Dylan says as he heads for Avery’s room.

Dylan arrives at Avery’s room and pauses before going in. Dylan doesn’t want to do this despite the way they ended things. But he did care about Avery’s recovery. Going against his best thinking, Dylan decides to play along, hoping that Avery will remember soon who she is really married to.

“Avery?” Dylan asks Avery, who has been resting peacefully and who lights up when she sees him.

“Dylan, you came!” Avery says.

“Yes.” Was all Dylan could say.

“How are the twins?”

“Twins?”

“Our babies.” Avery says, confused. “You are their father.”

“Ah, they’re fine but in NICU.”

“Have you seen them?”

“No, not yet.”

“I don’t understand? Why haven’t you? You were here for the birth?” Avery says confused.

“No, Avery. Nick was. He took my place in the delivery room because I was called away on business.” Dylan said, playing along with what Stitch told him.

“But you were excited about these twins?” Avery accuses. “Why would you go away when I was about to deliver?”

“I’m sorry Avery, it couldn’t be help, so Nick stepped in during my absence.”
“Well, can I have a kiss?”

“Ah, sure.” Dylan said as he gave her a peck on the forehead.

“That’s it.”

“I don’t want to put harm on you while recovering.” Was all the excuse Dylan to come up with.

“Oh. Well, I’m tired.” Avery told him.

“Ok. I’ll let you get some rest.” Dylan says then heads out.

As soon as Dylan leaves, Avery gets out of her bed and leaves her hospital room to find see the twins in NICU.

Chapter 3

Nick finds a weak Avery at the window to the NICU.

“Avery, what are you doing out of bed?” Nick blasts her caringly, as he walks her back to her room.

“I wanted to see my babies.” Avery pleaded.

“There’ll be time for that later.” Nick coaxes. “Right now, you need to get your rest so you can heal and take care of your babies.”

Avery relented and let Nick help her back to her room, seeing how Nick wasn’t going to give in. Nick helped Avery back to bed so she could rest comfortably. Then started to leave so Avery could rest.

“Nick?” Avery called after him. “Don’t go.”

“I wanted you to get your rest.” Nick replied.

“Stay.” Avery pleaded.

Nick did as Avery requested and sat down next to her bed.

“So, Avery, we have a problem?” Nick told her.

“What?” Avery asked, worriedly. “Is something wrong with the babies?”

“Hell yeah, there’s something wrong?”

“Oh, no, they’re….” Avery started to say before Nick cut her off.

“They need names.”

“Names?”

“Yeah, Avery, what are we going to name our babies?”

“Oh, thank god.” Avery relaxed. “You had me scared for a minute.”

“Well, I had them picked out before they were born.” Avery replied.

“So what did you come up with?”

“Skylre Savannah Newman and Samuel Gabriel Newman?”

“Skylre Savannah and Samuel Gabriel? Nick mused, as Avery looked worried at him.

Nick teased Avery for about 5 minutes before giving his approval.

“I like it!” Nick said, ecstatically.

“Well, I think we named our babies!” Avery said happily as Victor and Nikki came into to see Avery.

“Well, you’re the first to hear the news.” Nick told his parents.

“What news?” Nikki asked.

“Avery and I have given names to the twins.” Nick said.

“Well, don’t keep us in suspense?” Victor demanded in a friendly tone.

“Skylre Savannah and Samuel Gabriel Newman.” Avery told Victor and Nikki.

“Oh, I think they are glorious names!” Nikki told Nick and Avery happily.

The four of them celebrated Nick and Avery’s twins when the doctor showed up with news for Nick and Avery.

Chapter 1

Finn and Hayden are celebrating Finn’s success with finding a cure that loomed dark in their future. Finn made a toast to their future as the star-crossed lovers kissed. But a mystery figure sitting over on the other side of the restaurant wasn’t too happy to see the two lovebirds kissing.

“I can’t believe I’m here to see this day.” Hayden exclaimed to Finn after their kiss.

“I’m just grateful we found a cure.” Finn said as he kissed her again.

The kiss led to more passion as the two lovers couldn’t seem to take their hands off each other and decided they’d better take it elsewhere before anyone noticed.

So Finn took Hayden by the hand as they walked happily out of the Haunted Star hand in hand and back to Finn’s room at The MetroCourt. It didn’t take them long to wrangle out of their clothes before they had their hands all over each other as Finn laid Hayden on the bed, kissing every inch of her body.

But that was as far as it got when a mysterious text came in on Finn’s cell: I’m back!

“Do you have to check that?” Hayden asked, doing her best to keep him in bed.

Finn grabbed his cell as he looked at the text, perplexed by the message.
“What is it, hon?” Hayden asked worriedly.

“Nothing.” Finn said, trying not to worry her.

“C’mon, don’t say that. I saw the look on your face.”

“It’s nothing. Really.” Finn said as he tried to take Hayden’s mind off the message and back to their romance, but the mood was ruined.

“I’m sorry, Finn, but I just remembered I have a deadline at the hospital.” Hayden told him. “And you know how Liesl gets when I’m not there.”

“Yes, you better go.” Fin said. “Raincheck?”

“Yes. We’ll continue this later, when I get back.” Hayden said with a kiss before heading out of his room door.

As soon as Hayden left, Finn text back, “Who is this?”

“C’mon, Hamilton, it’s Rebecca!”

“How can that be?”

“Meet me and I’ll tell you.”

“Where?”

“I’m at Jake’s.”

“Okay.”

Finn headed out to head to Jake’s just as Elizabeth went to the PCPD to visit Franco who was in jail awaiting trial for Tom Baker’s murder.

“I hate you being in here.” Liz said to Franco through the glass.

“I know, but I’m innocent. We just need to get the proof on Alexis for this murder to clear me.” Franco said to Liz.

“I’m working on it.” Liz said. “But Sam is deadlocked on the fact that Alexis had no reason for killing Tom Baker, even after I told her of our theory.”

“Well, something will come up.” Franco said hopefully. “Scott is working on a lead to get me acquitted of this trial.”

“Well, I hope it’s soon. I miss you.” Liz said as she held her hand up to Franco’s against the glass, as the two would-be lovers looked longingly at each other.

At the courthouse, Lulu is happy when the judge delivers his verdict in her custody battle over Charlotte with Valentin.

“After having reviewed the case, I have made my decision regarding the minor, Charlotte Cassadine.”

Lulu and Valentin sat vigil waiting for the judge’s verdict, “I order custody of minor Charlotte Cassadine to her birth mother, Lulu Spencer-Falconeri.”

Valentin stood up, “No, you can’t do this!”

“Silence in my court, Mr. Cassadine.” The judge ordered. “Before I place you in contempt of court.”

“Dante, did you hear that.” Lulu exclaimed, barely able to contain her excitement. “We can take Charlotte home!”

“I knew we would win.” Dante said as he hugged his wife, wondering what it meant for the four of them—Rocco, Charlotte, Lulu and him.

Lulu reached out to grab Charlotte’s hand but the little girl pulled away. “I want my daddy!”

Lulu did her best not to look hurt as she tried to comfort Charlotte.

“Go away!” Charlotte spit back at Lulu. “I want my daddy! Now!”

“Charlotte, the judge said you had to come live with me.” Lulu said, trying to be comforting. “You have a brother, Rocco.”

Charlotte gave in, remembering how she told Claudette that she wanted a brother or sister. “Fine, I’ll go, but I won’t like it!”

“It’s a start.” Lulu said encouragingly, as she held out her hand for Charlotte.

Chapter 2

Finn left before she give him the news that she was pregnant, Hayden thought to herself as she put her hand to her stomach. She wondered just what kind of mother she’d be? She was sure that Finn would be a great father.

But Hayden didn’t realize that she was being watched by Dr. Liesl Obrecht. And as Dr. Obrecht watched, she knew that Hayden was pregnant. And a scheme to get back at Finn and Hayden for getting her fired from General Hospital was hatched in her mind.

As Dr. Obrecht went along to work on her scheme, Hayden text Finn:

“I miss U. Can’t wait 2 C U!”

Finn saw his messages and text back: “Miss U 2!” “Kisses!”

Hayden went back to work at General Hospital, but her mind was preoccupied on the baby and not being able to tell Finn.

“Oh, screw it!” Hayden said to herself. “I’ll never get anything done today.”

Hayden gathered her things and headed out of the hospital just as she ran into Dr. Obrecht.

“Liesl, I’m so sorry!” Hayden apologized. “I was about to go home.”

“Leaving so soon, Miss Barnes?” Dr. Obrecht questioned her work ethic.

“I have to plan something special for Finn. I have big news to tell him.”

“Okay. I’ll let you go.” Dr. Obrecht told her.

“Thanks.” Hayden said rushing out of the hospital and to her car. And sped out of the hospital parking garage so she could start on her plans for Finn.

Meanwhile, Lulu, Dante, Charlotte, and Rocco were in the park having family time when Valentin happened along.

“Papa!” Charlotte said happily, as she ran to his side, to Lulu’s chagrin.

It took Dante to hold her back to fight the temptation to go after her daughter.
“Let them see each other.” Dante told her.

“You’re right, Dante, as always.” Lulu agreed.

“Oh, Papa!” Charlotte shouted. “I’m so glad you’re here!” Can Papa join us, Lulu?”

It hurt Lulu for Charlotte to call her by her name, but she agreed to let Valentin stay and join them.

“Yes, darling, Valentin can stay.” Lulu said, forcing a smile on her face for Charlotte’s benefit.

As the Falconeri family and Valentin enjoyed a day in the park, Hayden was almost home when she tried to put on her brakes and didn’t slow down. Panicked, she stepped on the brakes, and realizing they were out, ran the car off the side into a ravine.

Chapter 3

Finn had arrived home to find that Hayden still hadn’t arrived home. Worried, he text her, “Hey, where are you?”

10 minutes later, Hayden hadn’t responded by text or by call. So Finn headed out to his car to see if he could find her.

He pulled out of the driveway and started down the road where he saw an accident about a mile down from their residence. Being a doctor, Finn did the responsible thing and pulled his car over and got out to see if he could assist at the accident scene. What he saw rocked him to his core.

Hayden was being put into an ambulance.

He ran up to the stretcher before paramedics could place Hayden into the ambulance.

“Sir, we must really get going.” The paramedic told Finn.

“I’m sorry, but I’m coming along.” Finn said as he climbed into the ambulance with the paramedic after Hayden was inside.

“Hayden, what happened?” Finn questioned her.

“I was on my way home when the brakes went out.” Hayden told Finn.

Suddenly, Hayden felt a cramp and screamed out in pain, “Owwwww!”

“Miss, are you pregnant?” the paramedic asked her.

“Yes.” Hayden told the paramedic between spasms, as a shocked Finn looked on.

“Can you save my baby?” Hayden asked the paramedic.

“We’ll do all we can.”

The paramedics arrived at General Hospital and took Hayden inside where she was greeted by Liz.

“Hayden, what happened?” Liz asked worried when she saw her half-sister come in by ambulance.

As Hayden was rushed into the ER cubicle, an unseen Dr. Obrecht was waiting to put her plan in motion.

Finn was forced to wait in the waiting room while Liz and Lucas examined Hayden.

“Can you save the baby?” Hayden asked Lucas, as Liz looked surprised to learn of Hayden’s pregnancy.

“Well, let’s have a look at what’s going on?” Lucas said, as he placed his stethoscope on Hayden’s stomach.

Not hearing a heartbeat from the embryo, Lucas ordered tests done.

As Hayden was being admitted, Liz came out to see Finn.

“How is she?” Finn asked, when he saw Liz come out of the ER.

“Hayden is being admitted.” Liz told him.

“Can I go see her?”

“Yes, she wanted to see you immediately.” Liz told him.

Finn found Hayden resting and sat by her side, “Why didn’t you tell me about the baby?”

“I was on my way home to plan a special dinner.” Hayden explained. “I was going to tell you then.”

Finn kissed Hayden just as Lucas arrived with her test results, “I’m sorry, Hayden, but you were never pregnant.”

“What? But…..” Hayden was too stupefied to say anything more.
She just lay back on her bed and cried. She was so sure she was pregnant?

But on her way out of the hospital was Dr. Obrecht carrying a suspicious package.

Chapter 4

When Dr. Obrecht got back to her secret laboratory, she was happy to see that Nina was prepped and ready for surgery.

Back at General Hospital, Hayden was restless after Lucas spoke with her and told her she was never pregnant.

“Finn, I’m sure I was pregnant?” Hayden said.

“Shhh! Try to get some rest.” Finn said, trying to be supportive. “You’ve been in a terrible car accident.”

“No, Finn!” Hayden said, getting up. But just as she got up, she grew dizzy and passed out in Finn’s arms, as he gently laid her back in her hospital bed.

Finn was glad Hayden had passed out. The stress from the car accident and the news that she was never pregnant had taken a toll on Hayden. He didn’t know how he was going to tell her his news he received earlier tonight when he got the text about Rebecca telling him to meet her. He was so sure it was just a hoax. Now how was he going to tell Hayden that his not-so-dead wife was back from the dead.

After everything Hayden’s been through, Finn didn’t think she could handle this news very well.

At the PCPD county jail, Franco was restless. He was innocent of Tom Baker’s murder. He needed to get out of this cell so he could find Tom’s killer. He couldn’t wait for Alexis to arrive. He was getting out of this cell now.

“Alexis? Here to see Franco?” Dante said, when he saw Alexis arrive at the PCPD.

“Yes, I need to counsel my client.” Alexis told Dante.

“Well, go on in.” Dante said, as Alexis headed for Franco’s cell, but 5 minutes later, she returned only to the front desk where Dante was working on his reports for the day.

“Dante, has Franco been taken in for interrogation without me being notified?”

Alexis quizzed Dante, who looked just as surprised at Franco’s disappearance.

“No, he was there 15 minutes ago?”

“Well, he’s not there now!” Alexis said, ired.

As Dante went to check on Franco in his cell, Franco had made it out without being seen and headed for Liz’s house.

Back at Dr. Obrecht’s laboratory, Nina was just coming to in a hospital bed just as Liesl was coming into her room to check on her.

“Well, how is my patient today?” Dr. Obrecht asked.

“How did I get here?” Nina asked her aunt.

“Well, you passed out at General Hospital and I brought you here to examine you.” Dr. Obrecht told her.

“So what’s wrong with me?” Nina asked.

“Why Nina, you’ll be so happy?” Dr. Obrecht said, smiling. “You’re pregnant?”

Nina’s jaw dropped. How could that be? Nina wondered.

Chapter 5

Dr. Obrecht wanted revenge against Finn and Hayden and what better way than to let Hayden believe she was never pregnant before she could tell Finn the news. She wanted them to pay for outing her at General Hospital as the one who falsified his drug tests. And her niece, Nina was perfect to accept the embryo. She would let Nina be a mother to Finn and Hayden’s daughter. That way, she could keep an eye on the little girl without anyone suspecting anything. And everyone would think Hayden was crazy and be angry at her for pretending to be pregnant. It was the perfect scam!

Dr. Obrecht’s thoughts were interrupted by Nina who was waking from her sleep.
“Dr. Obrecht, what happened?” Nina said, groggy from sleep.

“What do you remember?” Dr. Obrecht asked her.

“I remember you telling me I was pregnant?” Nina asked her aunt, confused.

“Yes, Nina, you are.” Dr. Obrecht told her niece. “I ran some tests here at my home and it came back positive. You are indeed pregnant.”

“But how is that possible?” Nina asked. “It’s been a while since I’ve been with Valentin?”

“Well, you are.” Dr. Obrecht said, not wanting to get into how her niece was pregnant. “Just enjoy it.”

“I still don’t see how?” Nina said, still confused. She remember how Dr. Westbourne told her how she would never have children. “Your own daughter said I would never have children?”

“Well, my daughter has been known to be wrong?” Dr. Obrecht said.

“When can I go home?” Nina asked. “I have work at Crimson to get done.”

“As soon as I know the pregnancy took.” Dr. Obrecht told her. “Now get some rest.”

Nina felt drowsy and fell asleep to Dr. Obrecht’s delight.

Meanwhile, at Liz’s home, Franco knocked on the front door.

“Franco?” Liz asked, shocked to see him on her doorstep.

“I escaped.” Franco said as he came in and locked the door.

“What? How?” Liz asked him.

“I couldn’t sit in that cell.” Franco explained. “I needed to get out so I could solve Tom Baker’s murder.”

“But you’re going to make problems for you when they find you here.” Liz told him.

“Don’t worry. I made sure no one followed me here.” Franco told her, but the sound of sirens arriving in Liz’s driveway made Franco hide upstairs in her room while Liz was forced to lie to Dante.

“Dante, what are you doing here?” Liz said, trying to sound surprised to see him.

“Has Franco been here?” Dante asked her.

“No. No he hasn’t been here.” Liz lied to him. “I haven’t even been to the PCPD to see him.”

“Liz, you were there just this afternoon.”

“Oh, silly me. I do remember seeing Franco this afternoon.”

“Well, do you mind if I have a look around?”

“Go ahead.” Liz told him, hoping Franco wouldn’t get caught.

Dante looked upstairs in Liz’s bedroom first while Valerie looked in the living room and kitchen. After about 15 minutes of searching Liz’s home, and satisfied that Franco was not there, Dante and Valerie walked out of Liz’s home, to Liz’s glee.

“So, we didn’t find Franco at Liz’s.” Valerie said, so sure he’d be there.

“No, we didn’t.” Dante replied. But he did happen to see Franco in Jake’s closet.

But, overlooking the closet, Dante let Franco stay in there and left. He knew why Franco escaped. He wished Franco luck in finding Tom Baker’s killer.

Chapter 1

“Hey, Cara, how are you and David and Alisha?” Kendall asked, when she spotted her at the Pine Valley Hospital, where Cara worked as a doctor.

“Oh hi Kendall. We’re doing great. Couldn’t be happier.” Cara stated.

“That’s great.” Kendall said, looking relieved. She had heard a rumor that David was sleeping with Amanda, who was married to Jake Martin.

“How are you and my brother?” Cara asked her, spying the rock on Kendall’s finger.

“Griffin and I are awesome.” Kendall exclaimed. Kendall had succumbed to Griffin’s advances after her husband, Zack Slater, went missing action from a business trip for Cambias.

“Is there anything you want to announce?” Cara asked, still looking at the rock on Kendall’s finger.

“No.” Kendall said, then looking down at her hand. “Oh, it almost slipped my mind. I don’t know what is wrong with me.”

“Maybe you’re giddy with excitement.” Cara suggested.

“Maybe. “ Kendall agreed. “Anyway, Griffin proposed and I accepted.”

“Oh, that’s so awesome. I’m so happy for you two.” Cara said, congratulating her.

“I know you will make my brother happy.”

“Code red in Room 114!” was announced over the intercom.

“Oh, I’m sorry Kendall. Looks as if I have to go.” Cara said as she rushed off to room 114.

“Talk with you later.” Kendall called after Cara.

Kendall went home to her two boys, Spike and Ian.

Meanwhile, at the Pine Valley Inn. . .

“David, we can’t keep doing this.” Amanda told him after they had just made love.

“Amanda, I love you.” David told her. “I don’t think I can go a day without you in it.”

“But what about Jake and Cara?”

“I married Cara because she became pregnant with Alisha.” David stated.

“But I married Jake because I loved him.”

“Then why are you in bed with me?” David asked.

Amanda had to ask herself the same question. Why was she risking her marriage to Jake just to sneak behind his back and have a fling with David?

“Exactly why we can’t do this anymore.” Amanda said matter-of-factly.

“Okay, Amanda, if that’s what you want.” David said, as he got up and began to get dressed.

As David left the motel room, he was seen by Ryan and Greenlee who were having their own magical night at the same hotel.

Chapter 2

“Wonder what David is up to?” Ryan asked, as an amorous Greenlee pulled himself their suite.

“Who cares?” Greenlee said, as she nuzzled Ryan’s ear.

“Yeah, who cares!” as Ryan grabbed Greenlee and threw her on the bed, as the two lovers succumbed to passion.

But Jake was at the Pine Valley Inn on business when he also saw David come out of the suite he had seen Amanda go in.

“Jake?” a shocked Amanda asked, answering her suite door. “I’m glad you came.”

“Really?! What was David doing coming out of your suite?!” an irate Jake confronted Amanda when she answered her suite door.

“He wanted a visit with Trevor.” Amanda lied.

“Really? But Trevor isn’t even here.”

“We were making arrangements for a visit.” Amanda covered, as Jake looked at the rumpled sheets on the bed.

“You’re sleeping with him!” Jake raged.

“What? No!” Amanda tried to get Jake to calm down.

“I can’t believe you, Amanda! After all we’ve been through to be together!”

Jake turned around and walked out of the hotel suite.

“Jake, please! Come back!” Amanda called after him. “Please let me explain!”

Jake wasn’t in the mood to go home, so he went to Pine Valley Hospital to tell Cara.

“Cara.” Jake said when he found Cara in the doctor’s lounge trying to nap.

“What’s wrong, Jake?” Cara asked sensing Jake’s agitation.

“It’s our spouses!” Jake said with anger. “They’re having an affair!”

“No!” Cara exclaimed. “David wouldn’t do that!”

“But they did.” Jake told Cara.

“But why?” Cara asked confused. “What about Alisha?”

Jake just held her in his arms, still reeling from the realization himself. The embrace led to more as Jake and Cara’s kiss turned passionate from the anger they both felt at being betrayed as Jake led Cara to the twin cot and the two made love.

Chapter 3

David came into the doctor’s lounge to get a nap after surgery and didn’t expect to see Cara in the cot with Jake.

“So, are you comfy?” David said, as Jake jumped out of the cot at the sound of David’s voice.

“David?” Jake said, surprised to see David.

“A little comfy with my wife, Jake?” David said, a little miffed.

“You’re having an affair with Amanda and you’re mad at finding Jake and I together!”

Cara said, angrily before storming out of the doctor’s lounge.

“A little hypocritical, David?” Jake said, as he ran out after Cara, but was stopped by Amanda, who was there to surprise him with dinner she had made.

“Jake, I brought you dinner!” Amanda said, as Jake brushed her off.

“No time Amanda.” Jake said, ignoring her to go find Cara.

“What’s got into him?” Amanda asked as David came up behind her.

“They know about us.” David informed her.

“What?!” Amanda snarked at him. “You swore you would never tell Jake!”

“I didn’t tell them anything.” David said in defense. “I found the two of them together in a cot in the doctor’s lounge and they revealed that they knew about our affair.”

“What am I going to do now?” Amanda wailed at David. “What about little Trevor?”

“Hey, it’ll be okay.” David tried to reassure her with a kiss. “Now we can be together.”

“I gotta go.” Amanda said, hurt as she tossed Jake’s dinner at him.

Amanda couldn’t believe that Jake knew about her and David. She didn’t want to lose Jake. She loved him. David was just a mistake. She had to find Jake and explain.

Meanwhile, Cara had to see her brother, Griffin. She had nowhere to turn to and Griffin always had her back. She knew he and Kendall were celebrating their engagement, but she just had to see her brother.

“Hello, Kendall.” Cara said when Kendall answered her door. “I’m sorry to bother you and Griffin, but I really needed to see my brother.”

“Sure, come in.” Kendall said. “No problem.”

Kendall led Cara into the living room where Griffin was playing video games with Spike and Ian.

“Griffin?” Cara asked.

“Yeah, Cara, what is it Sis?”

“I’m in trouble.”

“What kind of trouble?”

“David is having an affair with Amanda.” Cara came out and said what was on her mind.

“I’m sorry, sis.” Griffin said trying to comfort Cara with a hug as he motioned to Kendall not to let Cara know they already knew.

“What are you two shaking your heads for?” Cara asked as she noticed out of the corner of her eye their nods.

“Nothing sis.” Griffin said, never able to keep a secret from his sister, who caught on to their quiet discussion.

“You two knew?!” Cara said hurt. “I’m the last to know about David and Amanda?”

Cara couldn’t believe that her brother and Kendall would keep such a secret from her. Unable to face the two of them, Cara ran out of Kendall’s house. Griffin tried to stop her, but Kendall held him back.

“Grif, just let her go. She needs time to be alone.”

Griffin realized Kendal was right, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that Cara was somehow in trouble.

Cara had just got to her apartment and let herself inside. She was so distraught she didn’t realize that it was unlocked. When she got in, the intruder who was still inside the apartment heard someone come in. Before Cara knew what was wrong, the intruder struck her from behind and hurriedly left the apartment before he was caught, as Cara slumped to the floor.

Chapter 4

“Did you get it?” David asked the thug he hired to spy on Cara.

“No.” the thug revealed to him.

“What?” David raged. “I paid you a lot of money and you failed!”

“She came home unexpectedly!” the thug tried to explain to angry David.

“Get it done! Tonight!” David threatened. “Or your dead!”

David walked away and to his job as chief of staff at Pine Valley Hospital.

Meanwhile, back at Cara’s hotel suite, Ryan and Greenlee come by to check on Cara.

“Cara?” Ryan said, knocking on her door. “It’s Ryan and Greenlee.”

Cara was just coming to after being hit on the head by the intruder when she heard Ryan call from outside her door.

“Help.” Cara whispered meekly trying to get Ryan and Greenlee’s attention.
Outside Cara’s suite. . .

“Ryan, maybe she’s not there?” Greenlee said, nudging his arm to leave.

“No. something’s not right.” Ryan said worried.

Ryan stepped back a bit and busted the door in, to find Cara lying on the floor.

“Cara?” Greenlee screamed, wondering if she was okay.

But Ryan saw Cara move and went to see how hurt she was.

“Cara, it’s Ryan and Greenlee. What happened?”

“Ow! My head hurts!” Cara said, rubbing her head.

“I don’t know?” Cara said, still rubbing her head. “I came home last night and then I blacked out.”

“You have a goose egg on your forehead.” Ryan said, rubbing her head. “Did you hit your head last night?”

“There was someone here in my suite when I got home last night?” Cara revealed. “He must have hit me before I blacked out?”

“We better get you to the hospital?” Ryan said, as he and Greenlee helped Cara to stand.

As Ryan and Greenlee took Cara to the hospital, the thug was standing outside Cara’s suite as they left. As soon as it was clear, the thug got in with the key card he stole from the front desk and managed to do what he was there to do.

Chapter 5

David made his way to Pine Valley Hospital to play the dutiful husband. He was sitting next to Cara when she started murmuring in her sleep.

“Jake, I have something to tell you.” David heard Cara say.

“Cara, it’s David.” David told a groggy Cara who was startled from her slumber.
“David?” Cara said, confused.

“You said you had some news?” David questioned her.

“News?” Cara asked instead.

“You said it while you were sleeping.”

“I don’t remember anything.” Cara lied, remembering her dream that she thought she was talking to Jake and was about to tell him about the pregnancy.

“Well, maybe it’s because of the concussion you got from being hit on the head?”

“Yeah, maybe.”

Cara was glad she didn’t tell David that she was pregnant with Jake’s child. It was bad enough to learn of his affair with Amanda. She didn’t want David knowing about her sleeping with Jake.

“Well, hun, I have to go to my office.” David said, making an excuse to rush off to see the thug he hired to sneak into Cara’s suite.

“Okay.” Cara said, glad that David was leaving.

As soon as he left, she took her cell from the bedside table and found Jake’s cell and pushed the button.

“Jake?” Cara asked when she heard his voice.

“What’s wrong, Cara?”

“I nearly blew it with David.”

“What do you mean, blew it?”

“I nearly told David I was pregnant.”

“What? How?”

“I was still asleep, dreaming I was talking to you about the pregnancy, and I thought I was telling you.”

“But you didn’t say anything?”

“No, David startled me and I woke up.”

“Whew!” Jake relaxed. “That was a close one.”

“I don’t know what David will do if he knows I’m having your baby?”

“I don’t want to know.” Jake said, “I think it’s best if we keep it a secret. . .for now.”

“Okay.” Cara agreed with Jake.

“I’ll be there to see you later, okay?”

“Okay. I’ll be waiting.”

Jake and Cara said their good byes and Cara settled back in her hospital bed and tried to sleep.

Meanwhile. . .David found his way to the meeting place on the pier he had told the thug to meet.
“Did do it?”

“Yes, sir. You should be able to see anything Cara does in her suite.” The thug informed David.

“Here you go.” David said, handing the thug his payment. “Now don’t let anyone see you in town.”

“I’m on my way out of town.” The thug reassured David.

David went back to his mansion and checked the surveillance equipment to see if it worked and waited for Cara to be released from the hospital.

Chapter 6

Cara was released from the hospital and David was there to take her home. Little did Cara know, that David was setting a trap to find out what his wife was up to.

“Darling.” David said as he came into Cara’s hospital room and kissed her.

“David.” Cara said shocked. “I didn’t expect you to take me home.”

“Well, I thought that was what you loved about me.” David replied. “That I’m full of surprises!”

“Yes, I do love your surprises.” Cara said. “It’s one thing that attracted me to you.”

“Well, shall we go now that you’ve been released from PVU?” David said extending his hand to her.

“Thank you, David.”

As David accompanied Cara home, Jake watched from the sidelines. He wished he could have intercepted and taken Cara home, but he couldn’t risk their affair. Or David finding out Cara was pregnant.

David and Cara got home. David was in an amorous mood (mainly to see where he and Cara was in their marriage) but Cara resisted.

“David, please, not now.” Cara told him. “I just got out of the hospital.”

“Babe, I thought you might need some lovin’.” David kept trying to be ‘loving.’

“I love your loving, but I’m just not in the mood. I just want to go upstairs and go to sleep.” Cara tried to put David off.

“OK, darling. You go upstairs. Get some rest.” David relented.

“Thank you, David.” Cara said, glad that she didn’t have to expose her pregnancy to him. She didn’t want David to know.

As Cara went upstairs to check on Alisha. She doted on Alisha. She missed her while she was in the hospital. She didn’t like that David had a handful of servants and nannies to care for Alisha. She wanted to be a mother to her daughter. Not a bunch of strangers, even though David claimed that he only wanted the best for his little girl.

While Cara was holding Alisha and feeding her, Carissa the nanny came upstairs to feed Alisha.

“Oh, I’m sorry, Miss Cara.” Carissa said. “I came up to feed Alisha.”

“Oh please, let me.” Cara pleaded.

“I’m sorry. I assumed you wanted to rest?” Carissa asked.

“I am resting. Alisha is my rest.” Cara said proudly.

“Very well then.” Carissa said handing the bottle to her.

As Cara fed Alisha, Carissa went downstairs was accosted by David.

“Carissa, I thought you went upstairs to feed Alisha?”

“I was, but Miss Hayward wanted to do it.”

“I hired you to do such details.” David said a little ired.

“But Miss Hayward insisted.”

“Very well, go get things ready for Alisha’s outing then. I’ll go see what’s up with my wife.” David ordered Carissa.

As Carissa went to get things ready for David and Alisha’s outing, David went upstairs to talk to his wife when he overheard her conversation with Jake, who had managed to get into the mansion without David seeing.

“So, David still doesn’t know your pregnant?”

“No, it’s alright. David doesn’t suspect a thing.” Cara told Jake.

“Good. we can’t risk David finding out that I’m the father.”

“I don’t want David to know either.” Cara said worriedly. “No telling what David would do if he knew he wasn’t the father because I slept with you after learning of his affair with Amanda.”

“And he might suspect that he could be the father.” Jake suggested.

“That’s true.” Cara agreed.

“Well, then we need to keep quiet. . .for now.” Jake told her.

Jake got a text on his cell from the hospital. “I’m sorry Cara, but I need to get to the hospital. There’s an emergency at PVU.”

As Jake gave Cara a kiss on the forehead before leaving, David hid so Jake wouldn’t see him hiding and know that he heard the whole conversation.

“So Cara is pregnant and thinks that Jake is the father.” David said to himself.

As Cara was looking lovingly down at Alisha, David came up from behind her.

“I thought you were resting?” David inquired.

“I just need to check on Alisha.” Cara replied.

“That’s why I have a nanny.” David explained. “So you can get the rest you need.”

“Please, David, I don’t get enough time with her.” Cara said sadly. “Not with all the servants and nannies at Alisha’s beck and call.”

“OK.” David said. “Just get some rest.”

As David left Cara alone with Alisha, he told himself, “Just don’t get to comfortable, Cara. Your little secret is going to come back to bite you in the @$$! I guarantee it!”

Chapter 7

Kendall was hit hard as her and Zack’s anniversary approached. As Kendall flashed to the memory a year ago of the letter she received telling her that Zack was dead after he failed to come back from a business trip, Kendall thought her life was over. But now, Griffin has proved to be a great friend as well as a real gentleman. She was looking forward to her night out with Griffin. That’s when Greenlee text her.

“Are you still bringing the boys over 2nite?”

“Yes.” Kendall text Greenlee back. “Can’t wait 2 C what Griffin has planned.”

“I’m glad UR getting UR life back. ” Greenlee text back.

“B over around 5.”

“C ya then.”

After messaging Greenlee, Kendall went to take a shower and get ready for her date with Griffin. It was going to be a great night.

Meanwhile, David had to postpone his outing with Alisha, and went to confront Jake about him and Cara. But instead, he found Jake and Cara in a compromising position.
“What the hell is going on?!” David said angrily.

“David?” Cara said surprised to find David at the hospital. “I thought you were with Alisha?”

“She’s with her nanny!” David said irked. “I had some unfinished business here at PVH!”

“Jake and I were just working.” Cara covered.

“In each other arms?!” David accused.

“I was just comforting Cara.” Jake defended Cara.

“By kissing my wife!” David spat at Jake.

“I’m sorry, David. It just happened.” Cara said innocently.

“So, you’re cheating on me?!”

“What about you and Amanda!” Cara threw out.

“Me and Amanda!” David said, this time defending himself. “You think I’m cheating on you with my ex?!”

“I saw you with her!”

“That’s right, David.” Jake offered. “We know all about your tryst with my wife.”

“Well, then let’s just get everything out in the open!” David said.

“What do you mean?” Cara said.

“I know that you’re pregnant and you think Jake is the father!” David threw it out there.

“How do you know that!” Cara asked.

“That doesn’t matter. I know and if you think you’re going to keep my children from me, you have another thing coming!” David threatened.

That’s when Amanda happened among the argument, “Who’s pregnant?”

“Amanda!” David said surprised. “It seems our spouses have been seeing each other, and to make matters worse, my wife is pregnant.”

“Cara, you’re pregnant!” Amanda replied to David’s response. “Is Jake the father?”

“I-I-I don’t know!” Cara said. “David could also be the father.”

“So, you’re screwing my husband?!” Amanda said bitterly.

“Well, you’re screwing mine!” Cara threw back the accusation.

“That’s a lie! I am not screwing David!” Amanda defended herself, knowing full well she did.

“This is far from over!” David continued his tirade. “If I’m the father of this baby, I will make sure I take it away, along with Alisha, Cara! There’s no way I will let Jake anywhere near my children!”

David left the two would-be lovers alone as Cara doubled over in pain. Jake grabbed her and put Cara on the examining table to have a look at her.

“I’m running some tests on the baby.” Jake told Cara.

Chapter 8

Cara laid in her hospital bed waiting for word from Jake about her baby. She just hoped the baby was okay. Jake came to give Cara the results of the tests Jake ran on the baby.

“Cara, I’m afraid I have some bad news about the baby.” Jake told Cara.

“What is it, Jake?” Cara said, bracing herself for whatever Jake had to tell her.

“The baby is in distress and needs to born now.”

“But it’s too early?” Cara feared for her baby.

“It will be okay.” Jake said, doing his best to reassure her. “We’re monitoring the fetus for any signs of distress now.

As Jake hooked Cara up to machines to monitor the baby, David came in and immediately took over.

“I’ll take over, Jake.” David said, pushing him away.

“David, I don’t….” Cara said, but she lost consciousness.

“David, what are you doing?!” Jake demanded.

“I’m taking over!”

“You aren’t needed here!”

“I have the expertise to handle this situation! You can go now!” David told Jake.

As nurses and orderlies manhandled Jake to make him leave Cara’s room, David was left alone with Cara to monitor her and the baby.

“Everything is going to be okay. I’ll be taking over.” Jake said to an unconscious Cara.

Chapter 9

Jake waited in the waiting room while David monitored Cara and the baby. Tad arrived after Jake called him.

“Jake, what’s going on with Cara?” Tad asked, concerned.

“Cara had some pain in her stomach.” Jake explained to Tad. “I ran some tests on the baby and the baby is in distress.”

“Will Cara and the baby be okay?” Tad asked.

“It looks like the baby will be born early.”

“So, what are you doing out here?”

“David kicked me out of Cara’s room and took over.” Jake said, seething.

“Well, maybe it’s for the best.”

“How can you say that?”

“Well, you are the father. Maybe it is best if David were in there?”

“The only problem is….” Jake began.

“There’s a problem?”

“I may not be the father.” Jake told Tad. “David could still be the father.”

Back in Cara’s room, Cara woke up to find David in her room instead of Jake.

“Where’s Jake?” Cara asked David.

“I sent him out.” David told Cara.

“Why? I need him!” Cara spat at him.

“I’m taking over. I’m experienced in these things and can do a much better job.”

“I don’t care. I don’t want…..” Cara tried to say, but doubled over in pain from contractions.

“The baby’s coming. I can see his head.” David said as he got ready to deliver Cara’s baby.

A few minutes later, David laid Cara’s son on her chest. Cara smiled at her new son.

“Well, hello little one.” Cara said, but was interrupted when David took the baby away.

“Where are you taking him?” Cara asked David, as David left to put the baby in NICU to monitor his vitals.

Cara was left alone with the nurses to tend to her after delivering her son.

“Go bring Jake here!” Cara spat out at one of the nurses.

Chapter 10

“Dr. Martin, you’re wanted in Ms. Castillo’s room.” A nurse’s aide came out to tell Jake.

“Is she okay?” Jake asked the nurse’s aide.

“She had the baby and Dr. Hayward is monitoring the baby in NICU.” The nurse’s aide told him.

Jake went to Cara’s room immediately to see how she was doing.

“Cara, how are you doing?” Jake asked her with a peck on her cheek.

“Jake, you have to go see how he’s doing?” Cara pleaded with him, not able to take her mind off her son.

“Okay. Just relax and get some rest. I’ll go see what’s going on with the baby.”

Jake reassured her.

“David can’t take him from me.” Cara cried.

“Cara, he’s not taking her. The baby was born a little early. He needs to be monitored.” Jake told her.

“I know I should know that, but it’s different when it’s your baby.” Cara told him.

“Well, get some rest. I’ll go check on the baby.”

As Jake went to check on David and the baby, Cara tried to get some rest, but it was impossible. Her mind was on her son. She got up and put on a robe and walked out of her room. She had to see her baby for herself.

When she got to the NICU, she could see David arguing with Jake.

“David, how is the baby?” Jake asked him.

“He’s small, but stable.” David told Jake.

“Well, I want to be involved in taking care of the baby.”

“Sorry, Jake, but I’m the father so I will be handling everything.”

“You don’t know if you’re the father!” Jake told him.

“Well, then when the baby is stronger, there will be a paternity test done to find out.”

“Then until we know the truth, I want to be involved in matters considering this baby.” Jake told David.

They were interrupted by Cara who had come into the NICU when she seen them arguing.

“Who says you have the right to make decisions!” Cara spat out at them.

“Cara, what are you doing out of bed?” Jake said rushing to her side.

“I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to come see my son.”

As Jake rushed to her side, Cara collapsed in his arms as he took her back to her hospital bed.

“Yes, Jake, go back and be with my wife.” David said to himself. “That’s your place. My place is with my son.”

Jake sat with Cara until she woke up as he waited word from David about the baby.

Author’s note: I changed Cara having twins to Cara having just a baby boy.

Nicole Does the Unthinkable
“There’s no way Chloe is taking her daughter away from her and to New York!” Nicole said to herself while waiting for Chloe to turn away so she could snatch Holly.
She didn’t have to wait long as Dario was a saint for causing a scene that took Chloe’s attention off Holly. Nicole saw her chance and calmly walked over to Holly’s stroller and picked up her daughter and walked off with Chloe so engrossed in her argument with Dario she didn’t even notice Nicole had taken Holly.
Nicole had made her way to the secret house Deimos had arranged to have Nicole go with Holly so Chloe wouldn’t find her, by the time Chloe’s argument ended with Dario and realized Holly wasn’t in her stroller.
“Help!” Chloe yelled. “Someone has taken my daughter!”
But no one came to her aid but a little old lady who came up and slapped Chloe across her face, “you should be ashamed of yourself. “
“What did I do?! Someone took my daughter!” Chloe yelled back at the little old lady.
“I read the headlines!” the little old lady said heatedly. “You’re the one who took that sweet baby girl from her mother!”
“Holly is my daughter according to the court!” Chloe yelled back.
Soon, JJ came upon the scene and asked the two ladies what was the matter.
“JJ, you have to help me!” Chloe pleaded.
“Help you with what?” JJ asked her.
“Holly has been kidnapped!”
“Well, you know the procedure. I’ll take you to the PD and you can file a report. Then after 24-hours, we’ll put out a missing persons report.” JJ told an angry Chloe.
“That’s all you’re going to do?!” Chloe said angrily.
“Sorry, Chloe, but I have to by procedure!” JJ explained.
“Fine!” Chloe harrumphed, as she followed JJ to the PD.
As soon as Chloe was gone from the scene of Holly’s kidnapping, Deimos took off the old lady mask, “You’ll never find Holly!

Eli just looks at his mother as she begins to confess, “What I’m about to say will shock you all, but I need to say it.”
As Eli has everyone’s attention, Eli continues as Valerie silently objects
“I hate to do this to you, but I need to get this out. I am grief-stricken over David Banning’s death, especially since he was my father,” Eli confesses, as jaws drop and Julie heads over to Valerie and slaps her.
“How could you!” Julie yells at her. “Keep me from knowing my grandson!”
“I’m sorry!” was all Valerie could say, as Abe just looks at her with disapproving looks.
As everyone rallies around Eli, Valerie is left out of the cold. Valerie starts to leave, but Abe stops her.
“Valerie, why couldn’t you tell me?” Abe asks her, not understanding. “I thought we had a connection?”
“I’m sorry, Abe!” Valerie said, before slipping away from the memorial.
Julie comes up to Eli and hugs him, “Do you want to have lunch?”
“I’d like that very much.” Eli agrees.
Julie and Eli head on over to the Java Café as Valerie heads back to her suite and packs her things to head back the DC.

Chapter 1
Chloe Lane had tears in her eyes as Nicole bonded with her daughter—the daughter she help bring into the world. The only thing more perfect would be to have Daniel see his daughter, Chloe reflected on how much Daniel would be a good father. It was sad, really. Daniel never got to raise Melanie and he barely had time with Parker, especially after another DNA test revealed Parker to be Daniel’s and not Philip’s, thanks to Victor’s manipulations. She had to tell Nicole the truth about Holly. Plus, she didn’t want to lose Nicole’s friendship over this.
“Nicole, you’re absolutely beaming.” Chloe said, happy for her friend.
“I can’t believe Holly is mine?” Nicole said in disbelief, tears streaming from her eyes.
“Well, believe it. I promised to help you and Daniel bring a child into the world.” Chloe stated. “I never renege on my promises.”
“Thank you, Chloe. You’re such a good friend.” Nicole said gratefully.
“Just be the best mother you can to this precious little girl.” Chloe told her friend.
“Well, I have to get back to New York to Parker.” Chloe said. “Wow! Parker has a little sister.”
After Chloe left Nicole alone with Holly to get back to her own son, realization hit her hard. What if she wouldn’t be a good mother? Holly deserved a good mother, and with her history, what if she couldn’t do that?
Nicole laid Holly in her bassinet to sleep while she left the room.
An hour later, Holly was crying when Brady came by, and seeing that Holly was crying, wondered where Nicole was.
“Nicole, where were you?” Brady asked her, concerned.
“I-I-I. . .” Nicole stammered. “I just stepped out while Holly was sleeping.”
“You left her alone?” Brady asked her.
“She was sleeping? I needed a break?” Nicole defended herself.
“You don’t leave a baby alone?!” Brady rebuked her.
“See? I knew it!” Nicole spat out. “Why did Chloe have to go and have the invitro?! I’m a terrible mother!”
Nicole couldn’t take it. She ran from Victor’s mansion where she was staying with Brady and Tate. She had to get away. Motherhood wasn’t for her. That’s why she always lost her babies. She just wasn’t a good mother!
Meanwhile, a dejected Philip was sitting alone in Horton Square when he spied a woman similar to Mimi Lockhart, drinking a latte. He went over to see her.
“Mimi?” Philip asked.
“I’m sorry? Do I know you?” Gigi asked him.
“I’m sorry, I thought you looked like someone I knew?” Philip apologized.
“I’m Gigi. Gigi Morasco.” Gigi introduced herself. “I’m here on business for some designs. I was trying to find a Kate Roberts of Basic Black?”
“Funny you should say that.” Philip said. “I can take you to Ms. Roberts.”
“You know Kate Roberts?” Gigi asked him.
“Only for my entire life.”
“Really?”
“Yes. She’s my mother.”
“Shall I introduce you to her?” Philip asked her as they headed off for Basic Black.
Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Deimos came into Holly’s nursery to find Brady holding Holly.
“What are doing holding Holly?” Deimos questioned him.
“Nicole needed to do something so I’m babysitting.” Brady covered for a heartbroken Nicole.
“What do you mean? Where’s Nicole?” Deimos questioned.
“She had to get some baby things before Holly woke up.” Brady covered, not wanting Deimos to know about Nicole’s breakdown.
Later, Nicole found herself sitting alone in the park wondering why she wasn’t with Holly. She had always wanted a baby and now that she finally got the one she’s always wanted, she leaves her baby? What was wrong with her?
But her troubles are far from over when she is spied on by an unknown figure.
Chapter 2
Chrystal Lennon wanted to get to know Nicole, the woman who was on her birth certificate as her birth mother. She wanted to know who her birth father was. So she googled Nicole Walker and found her to be living in Salem. So she got a bus ticket for Salem to find out.
When she spied the blonde woman in the park crying, Chrystal decided to keep silent, until she ran into Deimos Kiriakis.
“Who the hell are you, and why are you spying on my fiancée?” Deimos Kiriakis demanded.
“I’m just some fan of Ms. Walkers.” Chrystal lied, trying to get away from him quickly.
“Not so fast!” Deimos yelled after her.
“Please, just let me go!” Chrystal pleaded.
“Tell me who sent you here?” Deimos ordered her. “Did Chloe send you here to spy on Nicole?”
“Who’s Chloe?” Chrystal asked confused.
“That’s it? Chloe sent you here to spy on me and Nicole.” Deimos said, not buying Chrystal’s story. “I knew it. That’s why Chloe left so hastily. She had a spy watching Nicole?”
“I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about? I don’t know any Chloe!”
“Well, you’re coming with me!” Deimos told Chrystal as drug her to the mansion to let Nicole know she was being followed.
Nicole arrived back at the mansion to find Brady holding a crying Holly.
“Nicole, where did you go?” Brady asked concerned.
“I just needed to get away?!” Nicole defended herself, not wanting to tell Brady her insecurities for being a mother to Holly.
“Okay. Deimos was here wondering where you were.”
“I hope you defended me?” Nicole questioned him.
“I told him you were out buying some baby things?”
“Great. Can I take her now.” Nicole said, feeling a little more confident about her role as Holly’s mother.
Nicole smiled as Holly smiled up at her, “She is beautiful.”
“You’re a natural.” Brady encouraged.
